Go to the start panel and type in system, go to system configuration and then hit the boot tab, then click advanced options, check the box that says maximum memory and type in 2046, click apply and ok on all of the windows. Start the game and it should work. Once your done playing repeat the process, but in maximum memory just uncheck the box. Repeat every time you play, its annoying but it works I had the same thing happen to me.
This is for windows vista by the way if your using xp its probably something of the same the locations are just in different places. I would like to thank you for the solution because it WORKS on my vista.
I have been looking around trying to solve the problem but all I got were people telling me to get new RAM. But I have 4GB already.
If your gamepad does not work, remember - the games usually officially support only native Xbox controllers. If your controller is defined in system differently - try using software that emulates the Xbox gamepad (eg, x360ce - step by step manual can be found here). No sound in Zoo Tycoon 2. Check if the sound works in other programs.
Thanks again for your knowledge.
I am sorry to say that I am not computer savy, I know I have an athlon processor 3 ghz and 512mb. And am running windows xp home. That is the extent of my knowledge of my computer. I have recently installed zoo tycoon 2 and about one minute into the game the sound completely shuts down and the computers entire sound system is then shut down, yet upon restarting the computer the sound is back. I also have the sims 2 installed.
It appears to be working fine has anyone experienced this? Is there any hope for me and my zoo?:monkey.
